Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change
Introduction Road Map
Introduction
In a nutshell, climate change is one of the most defining challenges of our time. Global warming, rise in sea levels worldwide, accelerated rates of ice melt in the Arctic regions, vanishing ecosystems, and shrinking of mountain glaciers are some of the major consequences of this multi-faceted predicament of unprecedented significance. More profoundly, the shifts in weather patterns and the causation of unusual weather phenomena have long-term consequences for global food production systems, food security, and the long-term survival of the human race.
The one-year postgraduate diploma in climate change offered by SFAS has been designed to deliver a comprehensive, yet concise package encompassing latest scientific research and information on climate change, its potential future impacts on agriculture, and food production, policy guidelines, and direction, mitigation, and adaptation strategies, and the rationale for future disaster reduction, and management initiatives.
