Introduction
This research-based MS Food Technology program (approved by HEC) has been designed to strengthen the knowledge and skills related to food technology in accordance with the recommendations and prerequisites put forth by the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan.
The key objectives of the program are to enhance the knowledge of food processing, food safety and quality, and novel and innovative product development techniques through highly comprehensive and specialized courses, and research-based case studies.
Admission Requirements:
- 16 years of formal education with at least (2.00) CGPA
- Graduate Assessment Test (GAT)/Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)/UMT entry test - 50%
- BS/BSc. (Hons.) Food Science and Technology, Agriculture (Majoring in Food Technology or Food Science and Technology), Food Safety and Quality Management, Food and Nutrition, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, BS Home Economics (Food & Nutrition), Nutritional Sciences, and other related disciplines*
- * Other related disciplines: Dairy Science and Technology/Dairy Technology, Food Engineering, Biotechnology
- Admission interview by UMT Graduate Admissions Committee
Deficiency requirements
- The candidates of following degree programs must meet the deficiency requirements: BS/B. Sc. (Hons.) Agricultural Engineering, BS/ B. Sc. (Hons.) Animal Husbandry/Animal Sciences (all disciplines), BS/B. Sc. (Hons.) Microbiology, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, BS/B. Sc. (Hons.) Biochemistry and other related disciplines (Biosciences).
Duration:
- Two academic years (or 4 semesters)
- Total credit hours: 30
