Program Objectives

MS Food Technology has the following main objectives;

  • To develop a comprehensive understanding of various food production and processing issues faced by the food industry
  • To provide a comprehensive know how about the recent tools that are developed internationally to tackle the food processing issues
  • To train on various analytical instruments and equipment that are relevant to new product development
  • To develop research and analytical skills for effective evaluation of quality issues in various food industries
  • To develop effective scientific writing and publications skills for effective dissemination of research outputs
  • To develop a comprehensive understanding of various food production and processing issues faced by the food industry

 Program Outcomes

Demonstrate technical knowledge of interactions between food composition and processing parameters that are essential to suggest solutions for handling food processing challenges and innovating new product lines

  • Develop skills of operating new processing techniques in order to maintain higher standards of food quality
  • Apply emerging food processing technologies to enhance the efficiency of the food production systems
  • Develop analytical skills for assessing the food safety and quality assurance systems
  • Create research and critical thinking skills for providing solutions to food processing and formulation issues in product development
  • Develop effective scientific writing and publication skills for effective dissemination of research outputs
