SFAS Advanced Instrumentation Laboratory
SFAS Advanced Instrumentation laboratory is a modern, research-oriented facility established to strengthen the practical and analytical skills of students and researchers in both Food Science and Technology (FST) and Human Nutrition and Dietetics (HND). The laboratory supports advanced experimental work related to food characterization, quality evaluation, and process optimization through state-of-the-art equipment and standardized procedures.
Capabilities
- Determination of particle size distribution in powders, emulsions, and suspensions
- Textural analysis of food and biopolymer systems
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis of food components and nutrients using spectrophotometric techniques
- Ultrasonic-assisted extraction, dispersion, and homogenization of bioactive compounds
- Development and validation of analytical methods for research and industrial applications
Operational Standards
All analytical operations are conducted under SOPs in accordance with international laboratory practices. Instruments are routinely calibrated, and data are recorded to ensure reliability, reproducibility, and research integrity.
Collaboration and Services
SFAS Advanced Instrumentation Laboratory is open for research collaborations, student projects, and commercial analytical services. Tailored analytical testing and method development can be designed according to the needs of academic partners, industries, and research organizations.
