SFAS Food Processing Hall

The SFAS Food Processing Hall is a modern, purpose-built facility that provides an integrated platform for experiential learning, research, and pilot-scale production in the domains of FST and HND. Designed to simulate an industrial environment, the hall enables students and researchers to explore the science and technology behind large-scale food and bakery manufacturing.

Core Functions and Strengths

  • Commercial-Scale Baking Unit equipped for the preparation of breads, cookies, cakes, and other bakery products under controlled processing conditions
  • Product Formulation and Process Innovation focused on developing nutritionally enriched and functional baked foods
  • Pilot-Scale operations covering dough preparation, fermentation, baking, cooling, and packaging stages
  • Training Workshops and skill development in equipment handling, process monitoring, and food quality assessment
  • Process evaluation and quality control studies to assess texture, flavor, moisture retention, and storage stability
