Mr. Athar Hussain serves as a lecturer at the SFAS, UMT, Lahore. Additionally, he is also a Ph.D. scholar in Biotechnology at the NIBGE,PIEAS. Mr. Hussain’s research at UMT focuses on the interface of bioinformatics and life sciences. He is broadly interested in interdisciplinary research projects focused on genomics/Proteomics biology using computational approaches. His interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary experience includes a record of 26 peer-reviewed manuscripts. Hussain's Genomics Lab carries out a highly research-active program with undergraduate students working on a wide range of bioinformatics/genomics projects. He has been recognized with a number of teaching and research performance awards, including the 2022 UMT Rector's Outstanding Faculty Performance, the 2022 SFAS Dean's Faculty Outstanding Performance, and the 2017 HEC Best Researcher Paper Award.
