Dr. Asad Riaz received a doctoral degree in Food Science and Engineering from Nanjing Agricultural University. After that, he joined the Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences as a postdoctoral research fellow and worked there till December 2021. He moved to UAE and worked at United Arab Emirates University as a postdoctoral fellow in the Ministry of Education-funded research project. Currently, he is working at SFAS UMT as an Assistant Professor in Food Science and Technology. His area of research is food processing and preservation with a special focus on the development of bio-based active food packaging films for food packaging. He has published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals and his research contributions have been acknowledged widely in the international scientific society with an H-index of 16. He is an active team member of the Functional Foods and Nutrition Research (FFNR) Laboratory at the University of Canberra Australia.
